In 2015, the first year chef Curtis Duffy was awarded three Michelin stars, only 11 other U.S. restaurants held that coveted rating. Duffy achieved those three stars for four straight years.  

Such repeated achievement requires a leader who is never satisfied and never finished. And it requires a team in which every member harnesses a relentless inner drive for refinement, day by day, detail by exacting detail. 

Duffy’s ambition has only intensified, and now the man in the arena has artistic control over his fate. First he built his Ever with business partner Michael Muser. During the pandemic, Duffy both thrived at Ever, which earned two Michelin stars, and pivoted, opening Rêve, a burger joint that served the delicious comfort food he ate in his own down time. Now, he and Muser offer After, a lounge that is as breathtaking as twilight. 

At After, the service and decor are as sublime as at Ever. And the menu offers rare and carefully sourced ingredients, but of a different sort — spirits, whiskeys, agaves, wines and champagnes. Just like with Ever, After will set a global standard for ambience, service and ingredients.

After is for Ever’s guests who want to extend their experience in an equally sublime setting right next door. After is also for our neighbors in the West Loop, whom we hope visit often. After offers affordably priced beverages such as beer alongside rarer spirits and elevated cocktails. There is something for everyone at every price point.
